Moderating a community

Communities

Give someone the Moderator role in a space and they can time a member out for a bounded period, remove them from the space, or ban them. Every action takes a reason, and every reason is recorded.

Which action to reach for

• Timeout — they stay, they cannot post, and it lifts by itself. The right response to a bad hour.
• Remove — they leave the space and can come back if they are invited or the space is open.
• Ban — they leave and cannot return. Optionally purges their recent messages in the same action.
