The shape of the problem

Course cohorts turn over every term, visiting lecturers need access to one course and nothing else, and the previous term’s material has to stay readable without staying noisy.

How it is set up

• One space per course, with channels for lectures, labs and questions.
• Visiting lecturers as guests, scoped to their own course’s channels.
• Announcement channels for anything that must not be replied into.
• Archived channels at the end of term: readable, searchable, closed to new messages.

Archiving rather than deleting is the point. A student who asks a question in March can be pointed at last November’s answer.
