A Slack import run again goes back into the channels it made

4 October 2026

A private Slack channel that came in as a new private channel (such as #ops-2) is found again by the messages it holds, so a second run adds to it and makes no #ops-3; the preview says where each channel goes. If somebody who was not in the Slack channel has since been added to it, the import says so and writes nothing there.

People in the export are matched to members only by an email address the member has confirmed: for who wrote a message, who reacted, and who is put in a channel. The preview says how many members here have not confirmed the address the export gives for them; their messages come in under their Slack names until they confirm and the import runs again.
