Long messages, photo grids, and a sidebar that follows you

4 October 2026

A message can be 8,000 characters long, a scheduled one too. A paste that would go past that is kept whole and offered as a snippet or as “Paste what fits”, cut at the end of a word, and a count appears as you near the limit. Several photos in one message are drawn as a grid — two side by side, three as one large and two small, four as a square, more with “+N” on the fourth — and the picture viewer can delete a photo you may delete.

The sidebar scrolls just enough to keep the open conversation in sight. On a slow phone a busy channel keeps its bounded window while you read further up, and counts what arrived on “N new messages”. A thread opened from Search goes back to the results, a phone’s header keeps the channel’s name before its member count, member counts read 2,010 rather than 2010, and sharing into Kemble says which files could not be kept.
