Join from an invite, and confirm your email address

30 September 2026

Signing up from an invite link or a workspace invitation, with a password or with Google, creates your account and takes you into that community or workspace, without making a workspace or community of your own first. A workspace invitation keeps the address it was sent to.

A new account is sent a welcome email with a link that confirms its address, and Preferences › Account shows whether yours is confirmed and sends the link again. Google signs in to an account that already has a password only once that account’s address is confirmed.
