Nobody acts above their place, and history before you joined stays before you joined

Deleting a whole thread or post, editing somebody else’s message, AutoMod’s timeouts and removing people from a private channel all need standing above everybody affected, and a channel that hides its history hides it in threads and quotes too.

In Kemble Work only a workspace owner or admin deletes a whole thread, and a list item’s or a Link’s thread is never deleted on its own. Nobody edits another person’s message in Kemble Work or a direct message; in Kemble Circle a moderator edits only from above the author, never an automation’s or an app’s post, and a quote says when it was edited and by whom.

An AutoMod rule times out or quarantines only people its last editor outranks, and saving such a rule needs Time out members. Removing somebody from a private channel needs standing above them, and only the owner changes what the Admin role may do, in a channel, a category or everywhere. Deleting a forum post with other people’s replies needs standing over them too.

Where Read message history is withheld, a newcomer sees nothing said before they joined through a thread, its list, a forum’s posts, Activity, Pins or a quote — the quote says “Said before you joined”. The privacy policy now says that pictures stored before 12 October were checked and none carried a camera’s notes.
